The only 100% guarantee to not get pregnant is to not have sex. You can take birth control, both people wear condoms AND have surgery to prevent pregnancy and it can still happen. The chances are very slim. But it can still happen. I would suggest birth control and condoms. Doubles the protection and decreases the chances more than just using one.

Technically yes, even tubal litigation (getting your tubes tied) isn't 100% effective. It's just very unlikely - there's a reason they prescribe it, it works!
