Blanket in the Crib?

Question

Is anyone having their child use a blanket at night yet? My son will be 1 on Friday and with it getting cooler outside where we live I feel like it is time to either introduce a blanket or start having him use sleep sacks again! What are your thoughts?

I still use a sleep sack with my baby. She doesn’t have the motor skills to pick the blanket up and cover herself with it so I don’t see a point for her to have one.

I love sleep snacks. We used one with my daughter until she was 3 (she had the kind with feet out at that point). It is great because it stays on unlike a blanket, and it keeps them from climbing out of the crib so easily.

Mine sleeps so much better with the blanket and pillow. She will be 1 on Sunday but has been sleeping with them for a few months now.

We got a heavy sleep sack called a gunapod, kind of expensive, but it’s bamboo super soft and the texture of a down comforter. My son is 2.5 and we still use it for him, my daughter just turned 1 and we started using it with her at 9 months.

We still use sleep sacks. I know my daughter would be fine, but I can’t take that risk with a blanket personally.

My daughter had used a crocheted blanket for months. We put her to sleep on her back and she rolls to her stomach and sleeps with her butt in the air. She always pulls her blanket close to her.

I was a big fan of sleepsacks with my first. We used them til he was 2.  We will likely do the same/similar with this baby/toddler.
