Is Soy Milk Ok?

Question

Ive been allergic to dairy all my life so all i drink is soy milk. Ive heard mixed reviews on whether or not its ok during pregnancy and was just wondering if any of you ladies know?

Anything soy isn't healthy. Have you tried nut milks (almond, cashew, coconut, etc.)?

Just in general, I would recommend almond milk over soy for many reasons but the nutritional content alone is much higher in almond milk. Hope this helps!

Soy is fine. Make sure it is Organic and GMO free.
We had Tempeh for dinner the other night, eat edamame regularly, and have soymilk in my cereal most mornings. 
When drinking soymilk...avoid ones with caragenan added to it.

Soy does have an ingredient similar to estrogen...however...studies prove that you would have to eating a very extreme amount to experience even minor effects...it will not cause irregular periods, or hormonal issues. Think about the different cultures where soybeans are a daily indulgence.

Soy also has phytic acid in it which helps lower cholesterol...don't eat too much because ypur body needs cholesterol to help make progesterone and estrogen.

However fermented products like tempeh or miso, are lower in phytic acid...so you can eat more.

A couple of servings of soy a day while pregnant is safe...but again Organic GMO free, and avoid caragenan as an additive to milks. 
Soy is high in fiber, and omega 3 fatty acids...and it is a complete protien.

(My father inlaw is a nutritionist, and I have discussed with my doctor. )

Please don't drink anything soy.  ESPECIALLY while pregnant.  It actually makes an estrogen type hormone in your body when you drink it that can be terribly harmful to you and your baby.  Soy is the fucking devil.

It doesn't matter if it's labeled "organic" and/or "non-gmo", soy isn't something you want to consume.
Most soy crops in the U.S. are used to make soybean oil, which is extracted by using the chemical solvent hexane. After the fat (oil) has been extracted, the waste product (known as soybean meal) is then fed to livestock and used in processed foods. Soy contains large amounts of isoflavones, which can activate and/or inhibit estrogen receptors and disrupt normal bodily functions. Iso's also raise breast cancer risk and change normal hormone functions to affect menstrual cycle, leading to delayed and prolonged periods. 
If any soy is consumed it should be fermented and in small amounts.

The have pills you can't take that lets you eat milk products it. Is safe for the baby it called dairy relief you can't get it at Wal-Mart for like 5 bucks
