My boyfriend is more picky about cleanliness than I am, and keeps saying that “we need to clean up this room” or “we should do the dishes” but by “we” he means ME. The first couple months we lived together he used to do a equal share of the chores, but about 3 weeks ago he got super passive aggressive, now he never starts cleaning anything except washing his work clothes. He told me recently that I should cook more, which is an honest criticism so I started doing that. I’m getting frustrated that he doesn’t take initiative to help, just complains. He works full time, I am a student who works part time. How do I encourage him to help me clean? I am fine cleaning, but since my other 2 housemates don’t clean unless forced I at least want it to be a team effort or something we can do together so I’m not cleaning up after everyone. I can’t tell if he’s just thinking about breaking up with me or what, no idea why he’s so angry and wants me to do everything for him lately.
