Marginal cord insertion?

I think thats the correct term?
So after getting a 2nd anatomy scan i finally got results and I need to have another ultrasound at 32 weeks. They need to look at the cord where it attaches to the placenta. I guess its not where it's "supposed to be" the cord normally grows in the center of the placenta but mines off to the side and they want to make sure the cord doesn't start to attach to the amniotic sac. Anyone have anything like this before?

I found out at 20 weeks that we have a marginal cord insertion as well. I had a repeat scan at 24 and will have another soon. My doctor is not too worried as he is measuring big and everything else looks good. They will just monitor his growth from now on and go from there!

I had marginal cord insertion with my last pregnancy. They discovered it at 20 weeks and I just had to have an ultrasound to monitor the cord and her growth every 4 weeks.

I have it. It was found at my 20 week anatomy scan, I was sent to a specialist to look at it because they weren’t sure if it was velamentous or marginal insertion. Both the specialist and my doctor isn’t worried, I’ll just do growth scans every 4 weeks to make sure baby is growing accordingly. It sounds scarier than it is. My doctor said before all this ultrasound technology, most of the time doctors didn’t know the mom had marginal cord insertion until they delivered the placenta 🤷🏼‍♀️
I just had a growth scan today and baby had a big growth spurt... 12oz at 20 weeks, 1 lb 1 oz at 22 weeks and now 1 lb 10 oz at 24 weeks.
