My boyfriend does not have a job and he is broke. It’s been like this for years. Every now and then he will try to sell something on eBay and then he spends the money all on himself. Meanwhile I’m paying for everything (we don’t live together but when we go out I pay for our dates, food, gas etc). Anyway, one night I got fed up because he was acting mean to me saying I ruin his happiness after I already agreed to buy him food that night because he was hungry and I said, “you do realize there’s another way to earn money other than selling your possessions right? It’s called getting a job.” He started screaming at me and making fun of my job (I’m a full time college student and I work 2 jobs on campus where I work the front desk, yeah its easy but I’m also going to school and working 30 hours per week plus I have to get up at 6am everyday whereas he just sleeps in and does nothing). He started making fun of my job and calling it worthless and saying it doesn’t mean anything because it’s not back breaking work. His words made me cry and he was saying “this is stupid and pathetic.”

I told him I wasn’t going to buy him anymore things if that’s how he views my job and this set him off. He ended up asking his mom for the money and she gave it to him but told him to stop being mean. He threw a lamp on the ground and the glass smashed to pieces and called her a bitch and she said she wouldn’t oay for it either after he acted like that and that he could make a frozen pizza and he grabbed her purse and said “I’ll take your card anyway.”

We are 21 for context. I’m a senior in college. His words hurt me so bad because I thought he was proud of me😢
