He Called Me Mom!

So yesterday we celebrated my foster sons birthday. We didn't do anything super big because he doesn't like his birthday, so I just made him a dinner and got him a few presents. He really likes Legos, so I bought him some Legos and got him a Nintendo switch, then we all watched movies. We didn't do a cake or sing happy birthday because I didn't want to trigger him. This morning he left his Legos everywhere so I told him to clean it up and he says "K, mom". My husband looks at me. I look shocked. My husband goes up to me and whispers "Dont make it a big deal". So I played it cool until we went to the kitchen and silently celebrated. We are still working on the adoption process. Everything is kinda slow with Covid, but its moving along and his case worker is being super helpful. This is the best day if my life! Years and years of trying for a baby and failing, All we really needed was a 14 now 15 year old boy to come into our lives. I couldn't be happier. We needed him in our lives. I always thought I needed a baby, but thia teenager is more than I could have asked for. I can't wait until it's official!
