Is this a new thing???

I have noticed, especially in the last like 6 or so months, a ton of women doing cervical checks on themselves for all sorts of reasons. I was taught by my mom and ob and always thought not was common sense to leave your cervix alone. Why are so many women not sticking fingers up there for all reasons?? Is this not like asking for issues...especially when pregnant and soon after birth??
