Thoughts...

Danielle • I`m a 38 year old mommy of 3 beautiful daughters 19, 15 ,3 and 1 sweet little boy who is 1.5. Married for 5 years and pregnant baby #5.
My hubs and I are on our 5th cycle of TTC. Thinking of trying to chart bbt and give ovulation test a try. Have never done either before. Does anyone have any advice as to how either are done or work and anything else that might be a good idea to try. Thanks all.

Hello! I chart and use my bbt chart to detect ovulation. It's actually pretty easy to use both methods. I order my test strips from amazon (so much cheaper than in the stores). And the only thing you would need to chart your temp is a basal thermometer. The first thing I do when I wake up is take my temp. Before I even step outta bed to use the bathroom. Glow charts my Temps for me, making it super easy. With the opk strips I usually start them on cycle day 10, but that because I have shorter cycles. When to start testing really depends on how long your cycle is. For 26-30 day cycles, cycle day 10-12 is a good time start. With them I test once a day till I get a positive (test line as dark or darker than control line). Once I get my positive I test 2 maybe 3 times a day. After ovulation comes and goes I stop using opk till next cycle. I hope this helps. Wishing you good luck and best wishes :)

Usually during your period and up to ovulation you will have low temps. When you ovulation your temp spikes up. keep in mind that ovulation has ALREADY happened when you see the spike. For me, I get my positive opk and then usually the next day is when I get my big jump in temps. after ovulation your temp is usually higher till its period time again. It's not the easiest to undrrstand, but it doesn't take long to see a repetition in your temps, usually only a month or 2. Hope all this info helps you during your journey. :)

Hi!!! I started using Clear Blue Digital opks two months ago and I'm glad I did. I realized I ovulated much later than I thought. I haven't done BBT charting as I feel like it would be too confusing for me. Plus it would just one extra thing to my to do list.🙂
