Do you recommend having a fetal Doppler? I really want to get one but have heard mixed reviews. Thank you :)

I’m neutral. I can see the pros and cons to having one. Personally I haven’t bothered to get one.

I love mine! It gives me peace of mind. I’ve been using it since I was 8 weeks. At first it took me awhile to find it but then I just place the Doppler in my belly and I get it right away. As soon as I find it I listen to it for like 5 seconds and put it away. I will stop using it once I can start feeling baby move. I’m currently 16 weeks.

I bled every week from 5 weeks until almost 12. I got mine around 9 weeks and was able to find the HB around 11 weeks. Admittedly, I felt her very early on (this is our second baby) so I only used it for a few weeks and then her movements were enough to appease me. I don’t regret buying one at all but I definitely don’t use it often anymore. Then again, I go for NSTs, doctors appts, and ultrasounds weekly (been doing so for a few weeks now and I’m only 33 weeks) so I have the opportunity to hear her HB about 3 times a week. I probably would use the Doppler a lot more otherwise.

They use them at the obgyn anyways so as long as you’re not whipping it out every day and you wait at least 1-2 weeks between each use it’s fine. My fiancé was able to hear the heart beat for the first time when I got one he had no idea what it was but he was happy lol

I got mine because i had such bad anxiety and my baby daddy isn’t allowed at the appointments with me. i defiantly wouldn’t recommend in the first trimester/beginning of second as it is so hard to find the heartbeat! But i’m now 17 weeks and my boyfriend LOVES listening to his little girls heartbeat and it helps ease my mind:)

Its awful. I am almost 19 weeks and I can’t hear a thing. I just want to chuck it in the trash. Made me more anxious.
