Did evening primrose oil help with cervix?

EPO doesn’t put you into labor. It’s supposed to help with the thinning of the cervix. It is also said that it can help make labor shorter.

Evidence based birth podcast had an episode on this recently and vaginal EPO was shown to help with dilation and cervical softness. 
That being said it is also associated with rupture of membranes prior to labor starting, which can lead to an induction if planning a hospital birth.

It takes a bit to get in your system and for it to start working so don’t go in thinking that you have your baby in a couple days. Maybe closer to two weeks but yes EPO does help a lot with starting labor- thinning and dilating. Once labor has started Clary Sage helps regulate contractions.

I started it vaginally at 36 weeks, and every week they checked me, I was more effaced and dilated another cm (1 cm at 37, 2 at 38, 3 at 39, and 4 cm at 40) and I went into labor naturally the day after my due date

They say it does unfortunately my body didn’t react well with it. I did take an oral tincture called gentle birth formula in the weeks prior to giving birth!
