Has anybody had negative hpt but a positive blood test?

I am on day 68 of my cycle and had all negative hpts. Typical cycle is 31 days. I have a doctor's appt to do a blood test on Wednesday. I am just curious if it is possible or if I should prepare for a more serious conversation...
