So I started a new job at 12 weeks pregnant. Yesterday they did a surprise mini shower for me with cake and gifts (this is our second child so I wasn't having one). When I was hired at the Federal Defenders Office I knew it was all God. Yet everything I've found here was so unexpected I'm blown away all of the time. Just a few of the things He provided for me here was the offer of taking 14 weeks maternity leave time (2 more weeks then the state job I had) , an amazing compassionate and caring group to work with, and even though our branch is 70% male a baby shower with gifts more generous then I could have imagined. I've only been here a short time but from the first few weeks it's felt like family. The only thing that keeps me from crying (happy tears) is the shock of the unexpected when it comes. My 9 coworkers (7 male) came together and bought me the highchair I wanted and gave me a $150 gift card. I'm so thankful for these amazing people I get to call my coworkers.
