How soon is it safe to drive after giving birth?

My family won't let me drive but I have appointments to go to and would like to know when it will be safe

I drove the day I got out. 
But in my discharge papers it stated Not to drive for 2 weeks if you're taking your pain meds.

I would have driven sooner than I did. My husband came home to go to her first Drs appointment. And I didn't like going anywhere without him at first. But I think I drove within a week.

It depends...I had a vaginal delivery and no one told me not to drive. My sister had to have a c-section and wasn't supposed to drive for two weeks

Any time... I drive like a day after I got out of the hospital. Did your doctor tell you that you could not?

I would ask the doc what they advise. Especially if you're taking pain meds.

I know doctors will recommend waiting 2-3 weeks sometimes longer

Usually after my kids my doctor has advised atleast 2 weeks. I don't know about c-sections.
