im being induced this sunday and im kind of nervous and i would really like to hear some of yalls experiences w it and the process

Doctors use different methods, but I was induced with a foley balloon to dilate me and pitocin. The foley balloon wasn’t fun at all and once it came out at 4cm I felt relieved...then the active labor contractions started. I thought I was in active labor and the nurse came in and was like hunny this is nothing you’re not even in active labor...so that was great. Once I got the epidural I could breathe again. They also put a catheter in me, which I didn’t feel. It took me an hour and a half to push her out, which of course I thought was insane until they told me some women push for 4 hours lol. Overall my experience wasn’t terrible. It was brand new to me, so I didn’t know what to expect. It obv wasn’t that bad because I’m 3 weeks away from another induction lol so I was willing to do it again. The entire process from foley balloon to her coming out was about 24 hours. I was 37 weeks at induction. My advice is to ask them for a peanut ball to speed up dilation (it helped me). Eat a big meal before the induction since you don’t know how long it’ll take. Bring snacks, too (just in case). Oh and the best advice I got... “cough on the way to the hospital and learn those muscles you used to cough with down there...those are the muscles you push with... not your butt muscles”. 😉 You will be amazing!!! Induced first 2 times and I didn't have good experiences. Opting for natural this time. Refusing induction 100 percent. Pitocin contractions are the devil

I was already 5/6 cm when I went in. I don’t really know if you’d technically call it being induced I just had to have pitocin because my contractions weren’t consistent. But I went in at like 12:30 started pitocin at about 1:45 my water broke on it’s own and when it did she was coming lol was born at 4:42. Super quick and pretty easy. With my first I was dilated to a 3 went in started pitocin at 3 pm doctor had to break my water the next morning at 11 am and she was born 20 mins later. So 2 completely different experiences.

I was induced at 41+1 because I was overdue. I was not dilated at all so they started with cervidil around 330pm on Wednesday, there was basically no change during that 12 hour period, they let me get up and shower but no breakfast (also because I was in a delivery room I heard a woman come in screaming at the top of her lungs at 4am, was told she was already at 9cm and couldn’t understand why she couldn’t get the epidural). Around 8am I started pitocin and things picked up pain wise for me, I puked they gave me meds for nausea and pain via iv. Around noon I got the epidural because holy pain, but was only at a 2 or 3cm. Took a nap and woke up to be 8cm. They turned off the epidural for pushing (45 minutes) and I felt everything which sucked but oh well. I did have a second degree tear from my almost 9 pound baby but totally worth it. Good luck!
