Did you save before having a baby?

Question

I'm just wondering how many ladies have saved an emergency fund or baby fund before having a baby.

Hubby and I haven't had much time to save. Found out I was pregnant in May and spent literally all our money on our wedding to make it magical and our honey moon in sept . So now we've been saving all over again since OCT Now we've saved 1k for baby expense acct and 3k for emergency fund so far. And are expecting to have 6k total by January and 10k by the end of maternity leave in March !

We don't make enough money to save. We can barely pay our bills.

We have nothing saved and live week to week in paychecks.... But still completely happy that I've been given a second chance at being a mom again I am happy I had my son 10 years ago but I'm happy I get a daughter in 8 weeks.....

I'm a born saver so we are generally fine, but our cat Gideon who has been "our baby" for the pat 10 years has recently undergone some serious health issues with now probable cancerous lymph nodes and we have spent over $3k on him in last 3 months, makes me sick knowing of all the upcoming dr bills with baby but we just can't see straight when it comes to him. The decision to pursue further treatment has definitely put a strain on my husband and I as he wants to do everything we can and I can't get over that we've dropped $1,000 the last 2 weeks...

Ugh I barely have 1000 saved for baby and leave. It's so hard to save up that money while trying to prepare as well.

My bank acc sits at $0 every week until my pay goes on which usually all goes to rent, no savings but I which I did

We don't have anything saved anymore.. Thanks to the army and having to move twice in the last 6 months (1 paid for and 1 not)  it basically drained the few thousand I managed to save while he was in training.

This is our surprise baby, we found out the day before we got married that we were pregnant, a month after getting a car (on a loan). Then my dad evicted us before we even got a down payment for a house together so we were scrambling, now we have so many loans and payments every month we don't have any room to save.

I'm saving as living in Canada we get a year of mat leave, which is amazing but trying to save to make up for some of my salary difference. My goal is 10k.
