Fertility tests through GP
I wanted to let people know about the tests we have just been through regarding fertility as I know so many will be in the same situation. We consulted our GP and I was sent for blood tests my husband had to provide a semen sample. My bloods came back normal meaning I am ovulating and my husbands sample was fine. We then had to wait for an appointment at the hospital. At this first appointment I was asked lots of questions around TTC and lifestyle etc. The consultant did an internal scan to check my womb and pelvic was normal (I was not prepared for this as it didn’t mention it on the appointment letter) and I was then referred for a hycosy scan. At this appointment they checked my Fallopian tubes were open and no blockages (minor outpatient operation). We have been told that everything looks good and are now waiting to be referred for IVF as they class it as unexplained infertility given we have been TTC for 20 months. It’s going to take some time for the IVF referral and in the meantime we will keep TTC. Anyone else been in a similar situation?
