What is a “normal” amount of times grandparents see baby?

As of right now my daughter sees both sets of her grandparents once a week. I was wondering if this is “normal” or to much time.

Depends on your relationship. My family, 1-2 times a week. His family, 1 time a month. They want more time, but they have toxic personalities and beliefs that don’t align with ours in the slightest. So 🤷🏻‍♀️

My parents live 4 hours away and there are no grandparents on the other side.  So he sees them once every few months.  “Normal” really depends on your relationship and distance.

I don’t think there is a normal. My parents live right down the street and help us out with our kids so they have go more than a week not seeing them. Usually they see them at least twice a week. My in-laws live 40 minutes away and are too sick to help us but we visit at least once a month often twice.

It just depends really. Each family is different. My in laws live next door but we still only go over either once a week or every other week with the baby. My step kids go over daily. My mom has only met my baby twice since he was born, he’s 15 weeks old. I go see my grandparents once a week.

I think it really depends on the family. My kids see my mom & step-dad weekly. They see my dad and his wife monthly. They see my husbands parents once every 3ish months usually. If my in-laws lived closer I’m sure we would see them weekly.

Depends for everyone and your relationship. I limit time my daughter has with my mother in law because of the way she can be. She was seeing her once a week, but it’s more down to once every 2 weeks now.

My son sees my parents almost everyday... we live upstairs from them and he sees his dads parents like 1x a month. They’re a toxic family so the less the better for me lol

There’s no normal, everyone has different relationships and distances from families so it’s be too hard to pinpoint an average. We live 4 hours from my mom, she sees them maybe 4 times a year tops. My husbands family is across the country, and they visit once or twice a year.

Depends on individual circumstances, there is no normal.
Some factors might be:
- your relationship/how close you are
- if they expect to be waited on / entertained when they visit
- how far away you live
- whether you’re back at work
- if they babysit
- how many sets of grandparents /step grandparents/other family members you are juggling
- other commitments you have/how much time you have available 
My LO’s grandparents each babysit 1 day a fortnight (my parents one week, my SO’s parents the next) and we have dinner together when my SO and I get home from work. We occasionally see them for other events like bigger family gatherings, birthdays, special events, etc. so it probably works out to once every 1 to 2 weeks.
They all wanted to see him very frequently as a newborn and I got overwhelmed with the visits. Not so much with my parents as I felt comfortable to ask them for help with dishes, laundry, etc. but I felt overwhelmed having to ‘entertain’ my SO’s family when they wanted to visit twice a week. We ended up inviting them over only when my SO was home too and eventually life got into a better rhythm.
