Anyone get heartburn during their period?

For the past 4 days I have had horrible indigestion/heartburn. I started my period 2 days ago and read that the hormone fluctuations during your period can contribute to it. 
I literally never get heartburn so I’m struggling to ger relief. I have tried tums and they are not helping. 
Any suggestions?

Oddly this is the first period that gave me extreme indigestion as well! Never happened in the past, I thought I was pregnant for four days prior to it starting just because of how out of the blue it was!
