Sperm testing before 6mo TTC?

Question

We are over 35 and don't want to waste time finding out if my hubby has any issues - has anyone done the tests sooner? Are clinics willing to test you sooner than 6mo TTC?

My SO had his test done earlier this month but we have to go back for the results next month.  We just made an appointment because we care TTC seriously since June and he is 26 and I'm going to be 26 in 2 months and I had pap smear and ultrasound done on pelvis for cramps and they said my uterus and ovaries was fine. So we decided to get his checked on our own. I called the clinic that had the best reviews online and we went in and they asked us questions and said that we should wait a full year since we are under 35 but since we are there they will go ahead and start the test and they had him masterbuate in a cup at home and take it to the hospital for testing and he have to do it again at the end of the month.  And we go back in December for the results and if everything comes back normal then they will not go further into testing. I am hoping and praying everything is good though. I'm 34 and my husband is 36. We just asked for the order to be put in and his doc agreed. We took it to a fertility center and had it done with no question. Results were fast....and disappointing, so we are SO GLAD we pushed for it!! And I definitely put the date I went off BC on my paperwork at the fertility doc even though we didn't actively start trying right away. Good luck!!

Typically for fertility testing to be considered you have to be trying for a year under the age of 35. 6 months over the age of 35. So if you're 35 and have been trying for 6 months, they should. If you're worried about them saying no, tell them you've been trying for a year.

Yess lieee. When they ask how long you have been trying lie your ass off. Say a year and like 3 months. Lol. Youll be able to get all sorts of testing done with no problems.
