Love you

My bf and I have been together for 1.5 years and him saying I love you was something that has tmen him forever to say. When he finally did, about 8 months in, he has really only said “love you.” Never “I love you.” I know, this sounds very nitpicky. But me being an overthinker, I tend to think that it means more to add the “I”.

I will often say and text “I love you,” but he will only respond with “Love you.” To me it seems important and it doesnt take alot of effort to add the I. So I just think theres more depth in adding it and its super easy to say it or write it, so why doesnt it.

1) Am I overreacting?

2) If not, how do I bring it up?
