What to do?

So I recently found out I’m pregnant and extremely happy and would love to announce it by 12 weeks but most probably won’t until waaay further along the thing is I have a really close friend who has been trying for years and has dealt with 3 miscarriages one at 20 weeks recently how do I go about this like I feel so terrible for being pregnant when I know she should be too 🥺💔 Has anyone been through this

If she is a close friend like you say, tell her first. From my experience with miscarriages, you can’t manage/plan how someone will react. You have to let them work out their own emotions. However, telling her first will show your love for her and help her sort out her emotions before it is announced and celebrated and talked about with everyone else. I’ve noticed that the announcements that did not bug me were from friends who actually took their time to talk to me about my pain and not offer suggestions like adoption or other platitudes.

I've had 4 miscarriages in the last 3 years with the last one at 12 weeks. My husband and I decided that if we get pregnant again, we will tell parents and siblings at 20 weeks and then everyone else can find out when we announce on social media when the baby would be at least a week old. But it is 100% up to you and your SO.
