Question

I’m 15 and i got my first period about a year and a half ago..
i don’t know where my vaginal hole is and i’m quite scared to use a tampon because i’ve read you can get infections and it can get stuck if you do it wrong. any advice?
also what brands of tampons would you recommend for first time use?

I was petrified of tampons when I was your age. I used the smallest ones I could find. The tampax pearl active one in light were fantastic. Super smooth and easy to use. Don’t be afraid to look up diagrams to figure out where everything is and explore your body. Tampons can cause TSS if left in longer than 8 hours but most people fill them up before then anyway. Just remember you have one in or even set a timer. I was paranoid about it for a long time and I still don’t like sleeping in them. Just take your time and you’ll get there :)

Well first step is to learn the anatomy of your body.
The right tampon to use depends on your body. Different brands are made differently. If you do use tampons, try the ones that have the applicator. My favorite brand is Rael tampons. Tampons also have a risk of toxic shock syndrome if you wear the wrong absorbency or keep them in longer than the maximum time (8 hours) and you should not sleep in them.
Super: heavy days
Regular: medium  days
Light: light days
& you need to have multiple on hand because you have to wear the right tampon for your flow. 
I think you should continue to use pads or try period panties until you get more comfortable with your body and learn your cycle. There is nothing wrong with wearing pads. It is not a sign of immaturity. You can try organic pads like The Honey Pot, Rael Pads, Always Pure. Change every 3-4 hours depending on your flow.
