How many naps does your baby take?

My baby is 9 months next week and is still napping 3 times a day from 30 min - 1.5 hours (really inconsistent lengths). Whose successfully transitioned to 2 naps? What method did you follow?

Personally I’m more concerned about entertaining a baby who naps less than worrying if she’s napping too much at nine months

My son is 9 1/2 months and takes 2 or 3 naps. If his first nap is short, he’ll end up needing 3 naps but if his first nap is decent, he takes 2 naps and goes to bed around 8.

I highly recommend the Huckleberry app. It’s free. I swear it’s like magic it tells you when to put the baby down for their nap depending on the number of naps you want them to take and their age. You can set it up for 2-3 naps so you can see when your baby should go down for both options. Usually by around 7 months babies can last 3-4 hours of wake time so I would try out the 2 nap schedule and see how it goes. Staying awake longer will hopefully help your baby sleep longer.

I slowly increased his wake windows but watched for his tired tells. He’s awake 3.25/3.5 hours his first nap is 1.25-1.5 hours consistently. His second nap is 30-45 minutes. I end naps by 4pm and his bedtime is usually 730pm.

I slowly increased his wake windows by 10 or so minutes a day until they were around 3 hrs. From wake up to first nap Is usually 2hr 45 min to 3 hrs, from nap 1 to nap 2 is usually around 3 hrs and from nap 3 to bed time is usually around 3 hr to 3 hr 20 min. Occasionally he will have 3 naps if he had bad naps that day but thats only a couple times a month.
