First time on birth control (IUD)

Hi guys!

So, I’m not nervous but I am a little skeptical and was wondering if my lovley ladies can help clear some things up for me.

I’m 21 yes young and I actually have never been to an gyno before until recently. Unfortunately, due to some health issues, I have been limited to birth controls that don’t contain estrogen and progesterone and because of this I was given the option of a non hormonal pill, injection, the implant or the iud.

As you can read already, I went with the IUD. Now, I’m not scared to get it, truthfully I’m a little excited. I’ve been needing birth control for the longest now to help control my migraines and to regulate my period. My fear is, I don’t actually know what to expect. Someone told me it would hurt, while someone else told me I could possibly die from it and truthfully, I’m not risking looking it up because then I will scare myself.

If any of my ladies have gotten or have and IUD, please inform me on what to expect and prepare for when I get it and for after. :(
