When is it okay to stop waking your baby for feedings?

My baby is 2 weeks old so i know its still too early but just wondering when, he drinks 4oz every 2-3 hours, yes its alot but pediatrician says its fine as he's not spitting it up, my daughter was the same when she was born. His birth weight was 8lbs 8oz but had trouble gaining it back due to diarrhea from formula sensitivity, ive changed it once he was 6 days old and he stopped and doctors had me start feeding him every 1 and a half to 2 hours.
  Back to every 2-3 hours eating and is 9lbs 14oz so doctor was super happy. I can't remember when i started letting my daughter sleep without waking her for feedings. I feel like it was at a month old but i cant remember.
Hes formula fed btw.

If he’s over his birth weight then there’s no reason to wake him for feedings. He’ll wake when he’s hungry.

You can stop waking to feed once they’ve regained or even surpassed birth weight and is continuing to gain weight well. 💞 Typically before a month old if doing well. I never woke my son to feed him because he was back up to his birth weight at his first appointment

Ask your pediatrician. I imagine since he’s over his birth weight and the doctor is happy you can probably stop now. I never had to wake my first to eat, but I was told to wake my second until he was a month old because he was struggling to gain weight.

Once they hit their birth weight if they have no other issues.  My son had to be woken every 3 hours until 3 months because of low blood sugar issues.

Typically it’s 2 weeks & back to birth weight. However, since your dr has given you direction in the past on frequency of feeds, I think it would be best to ask them.

As long as babe is over their birth weight. Maybe add a pound or two if you are nervous about it. Otherwise let them sleep. They’ll wake you up when they are hungry or need a diaper change

if he's drinking 4oz, I think he'd be good to sleep as long as he wants. he'll wake up when he's hungry. my LO is 2 weeks & 3 days but he's a lil guy. lash weight check he was 6lbs 12oz. I'm thinking he's hit 7lbs now. he takes 2-2.5 oz every 2 hours. i no longer wake him to feed unless it's been 3.5-4 hours since his last feed.
