My dog hasn't chewed my underwear in years and out of no where she has started again, does anyone have any ideas why?

My dog used to do this as well. I can't really say why, I think they like the smell. I've heard it's a very common thing. My dog even goes in my bathroom trash to eat my dirty pads. It's such an odd yet normal thing. Im not sure why they do it.
