What to do now with preterm labor

Question

I just got released from the hospital for preterm labor once again. I was treated with magnesium which stopped the contractions. I wasn’t spotting or leaking any fluid until I got home. Now I just see brown spots of blood. It’s not a lot and I’m not sure if I should go back or wait to see if it gets heavier. They did say I have a low lying placenta and I was only 1 cm dilated.

I feel like the spotting could be from cervical checks (I had preterm with my last pregnancy) but definitely keep monitoring it and check with your doctor if you get concerned. I would call the doctor before I went back to the hospital as long as you aren’t contracting.

Good luck mama. My first came early so I know the stress you are under. He came at 28 weeks and magnesium helped keep him in until 32 weeks. He still came early in the end because I had a rupture and baby was getting sick with sepsis. Hopefully you are only just having the contractions and nothing ruptures !!! Crossing my fingers for you!

I would call them and tell them. Especially with a low lying placenta you may have had an abruption. If they didn’t do an ultrasound before they sent you home they may have you come back for ine
