I’ve only known female Merritts, where as Gabriel is definitely a boys’ name (feminized version is Gabrielle).

My friends named their daughter Merritt and it suits her well. I’m generally not a fan of taking traditionally masculine names and making them gender neutral but this one works to me 🤷🏻‍♀️
