Std - ex boyfriend

I was seeing some before my ex, I believe he gave me chlamydia. Because I just got rid of it. Now me and my ex might be getting back together. What if he has chlamydia from before we broke up? I don't want to get it again but I also don't know how to tell him to get tested. Help.
