How far past your due date did you go?

I’m 40 +4 today and was only 1cm dilated and not effaced. Baby girl is still high. The dr was super insistent on inducing at 41 and I’m Leary about it and wanting to cancel. I’ve also seen 4 different drs that last 4 weeks 🙄 super annoying. It’s my first baby and know it’s common. My health has been fine and so has baby girls. I want her to come on her own so long as everything with both of us is okay.

You dont have to be induced if you dont want to :) 42 weeks is still within "normal" birth range. Many ftm go a little past 42 weeks even. It's up to you, and you can refuse.

I had heard on average FTMs were 8 days "late". But you really 42 weeks isnt even late since that is still within the birthing range. You technically can go past that but no doctor will let you. Basically the placenta is at full maturity and there wont be additional growth past the 42 weeks. Stick to your guns on what you want, have your partner or an advocate back you up since preggo brain is real.

I’d say you have a window until 42 weeks. My first came at 40+4, but I’m not considering scheduling an induction until this third little one hits 41 weeks.

I’m 40w tomorrow and my doctor also wants to induce by 41w, but I’m refusing. I don’t want to force my son out, as much as I would prefer it. He will come when he is ready and I trust the natural process. Feel free to tell them you want to wait for spontaneous labor. As long as you and baby are doing well, there is no need to induce.
