Foley Bulb lead to labor?

Question

Did anyone have a Foley bulb to help them dilate and then it ended up leading to actual contractions and labor? Or did you have to use pitocin?

I had one in place for 12 hours and did not progress at all. When they took it out and started the Pit that’s when things really picked up the pace but that’s not how it is for everybody I know people who have progressed beautifully with the bulb.

It is one method the birthing center here uses regularly (and they dont use pitocin).

I got cytotech yesterday for 4 hours and ended up having contractions 2 minutes apart on my own. Also did the foley right after and it took a few hours to fall out. Super uncomfortable but I was already having those contractions. I didn’t really need pitocin but by the time I got to 8 centimeters my contractions slowed down and weren’t progressing me like they had been the whole time. I had him like 3 hours later because he would not come done from -3 & when he did he basically slid right out lol 3 inches of the water sac started coming out of me while I was waiting to push and I was supposed to do practice pushes but when they put my feet in stirrups his head was already so low they could see it.

I got the foley balloon and once it fell out I was 5cm. & Then they started me on pitocin to help keep the process going in a timely manner.

I did but they gave me cytotec along with it. The combo worked (quickly!) though and I didn’t need pitocin.
