Fostercare, weight loss surgery, pregnant 😳
June 22, 2021
I just sit here sometimes in disbelief since finding out I'm pregnant a couple of weeks ago.
Life has been crazy the past couple of years. I started the journey as a single foster mom a couple of years ago. It definitely was a Rollercoaster but i handled it so well. Alot of pain, joy and tears.
In the midst of all of that, I had gastric sleeve surgery and so far I've lost 95 lbs. I've always heard alot of ppl have the surgery so they can have a better chance to get pregnant but my goal was just weight loss and healthy. I've always wanted kids but was told that getting pregnant for me wouldn't come easy and that I'd probably need help (meds,IVF,etc.) So i kinda put it out if my mind for a while.
Fast forward to December of last year when I found out that my foster daughter who I was close to adopting was being taken from me and her grandma decided she wanted her. And while i was happy that she could know her birth family, losing her after 16 months was one of the hardest hits i took during foster care. Literally felt like i had lost a piece of my heart and i havent seen or heard from them since.
Now I sit here grateful, thankful and in awe of what is happening inside of me. Grateful that God allowed me to conceive so effortlessly and unexpectedly, thankful that in June 2021 I'll be welcoming into the world a part of me that noone can just decide they want to take away.
Although dad decided that this was too much for him and i haven't heard back from him , I still find so many beautiful things to take from this.
I'm going to be a MOM!!!! 💗👶🏾💙
