Going insane here!!

I now 6 days late for my period and I have take 3 tests and they ALL have come back negative! My husband and I have been TTC for 7 months! My mom said she never got a positive at home pregnancy test with me until she was 3 months pregnant with me! Has anyone ever heard of this before, if so could it be hereditary?
