How much did your weight gain affect baby’s weight?

I know the more weight you gain during pregnancy, the more likely you are to have a large baby. But I’m wondering how drs determine ahead of time. I was 180lbs when I got pregnant and now I’m 194 at 30 weeks. Just wondering how it affected others.

Nope; I don’t think it effects the baby at all. My girls were both born the same exact weight & height, I gained 60+ pounds with my first, my second I gained between 20-25, so nope... my weight gain didn’t do anything to them.

I gained 35 lbs and had a 9lb 2oz baby. My sister gained 60+ both pregnancies and had 6-7 lb babies. At least from my experience, how much weight you gain does not affect the babies weight. 
My sister and I both ate healthy and were normal weight before getting pregnant (not overweight or underweight). We also both carried to full term.

I’m not 100% sure but I’ve seen women put on 50-60 lbs and have normal 7.5-8lb babies. 
I’m still pregnant but I lost 15 lbs the first month and at 33+5 have barely put that back on so coming out of my pregnancy it’s likely I’ll weigh less than I didn’t going into it. (I’m still technically 3 lbs under where I started I was already big though and that was my doctors goal for me was to maintain or lose but not gain so I call this a win since I lost it first lol) I have a growth scan Wednesday at 34 weeks due to GD and elevated BPs to check his estimate but it’s not guaranteed that he’ll be big

I gained over 50 pounds and the specialist told me my baby was going to be around 9-11 pounds. He was 6.5lbs.

I gained 50 pounds with my first, started at 120 ended at 170. I ate healthy I think my body just knew how much I needed to gain because I had a 9lb4oz baby. I lost it all within 2-3 months of delivery.
