While it is considered safer if you’re looking to NOT get pregnant, it’s not 100%. The anus does not connect to the vagina at all, however the wall between is quite thin, so a tear could allow access. Also, being in close proximity to the opening of the vagina, semen could still make its way into the vagina. 
That being said, if you do not want to get pregnant, any unprotected sex has a risk.
