I am currently 22 weeks 3 days. My cervix started to shorten from 19 weeks measuring 2.1 cm. It was measured again 5 days later amd was found to be 1.6cm. They put me on progesterone and measured me at 21 weeks and was 2.1 to 3 cm depending on different position. It was measured again on 22 weeks measuring almost the same. So they want to keep going with the progesterone and no cerclage. My worry is, i know after 23 weeks they won’t do a cerclage due to the risk for breaking the water. I am frightened thinking that my cervix will start to shorten again after 24 weeks and nothing can be done. Have any other mom been through the same situation?
