Induced labor experiences?

Hi All! I’m getting induced in a few weeks because of a gestational diabetes diagnosis which has been diet controlled (unless baby decides to arrive before that). What were your experiences with induced labor? How long before you checked in did you give birth? Complications during or after? Thank you!

I was induced due to high blood pressure but I was 40 weeks when I was Induced, on the Monday night they couldn’t get the balloon in ( for me this was painful but everyone experiences this differently) so I had gel put in 2 times finally by Wednesday morning at 9:30 I was 1 cm dielated so they broke my waters. Took me till 6 pm to get to 10 cm and had gas and epidural through the day and was pushing for a number of hours till we got too 10-11 pm and figured out baby was wrong side up in a brow position and was stuck so was off to the operating room they tried to rotate baby but she kept flipping back so ended up with an emergency c-section and baby was born at 11:50 pm lol
Lengthy and completely opposite to what I wanted in a birth. Everyone’s experience is different I hope you have a smooth one :)

I was induced because I was over due, a big part of how your induced labor will go has to do with the state of your cervix. I went in on a Wednesday with maybe a fingertip worth of dilation so they started me with cervidil around 330pm, I was able to start pitocin at 8am the next morning, got some iv meds for nausea and pain, got the epidural around noon and napped for a couple hours, pushed for 45 minutes and our almost 9 pounder was born at 550pm. I did have second degree tearing but don’t think my healing/postpartum was anything serious, I was more focused on baby/breastfeeding/ not sleeping.

I wasn’t induced bc medical reasons other than I was past my due date but mine went okay. It was also my first. Everyone told me horror stories about how they are horrible but when they gave me pitocin to induce me, I literally had him like 2 hours later and had no epidural and only back labor. Everyone is different but mine went great I only had to have like 3 stitches after but it wasn’t a bad tear. Barely anything at all and I couldn’t feel it either. Didn’t know I tore even!
