Inducing labor ?

Okay ladies , my due date is Jan 17,16 . my birth plan is to try for a VBAC my son is now 3.5years so I got the okay to try for a natural birth . my doctor said if I go into labor on my own we will try to avoid the c section but if I don't then I will have to get one on my due date . I REALLY DONT WANT ANOTHER ONE \:
Any home ways that you ladies tried to get you to start labor ? Please I want to start trying a week before .... Thank you (:

I would find a different doc who supports ur vbac goal!!

I'm going for a VBAC as well, my doctor is only letting me go a week past my due date since the chance for uterine rupture and other issues increase the further you go past your due date. I would talk to him about letting you go a week past, If possible.

I've been looking up natural ways to induce labor at home just incase.

With your first did you go into labor on your own?

So the doc is definitely pressuring you into an unnecessary c-section. First you don't have to agree. You have every right to say no. I would recommend another doctor who is supportive of your vbac. ICAN Facebook group and website are very helpful with information and support! This is all too common. I've seen ladies switch at 38 weeks due to the doctors changing their minds last second. Plus with a VBAC if you go into spontaneous labor its more likely you'll be successful! I would be worried about all the interventions that doc will possibly do during labor as well. They typically lead to c-sections too. Good luck Momma! Do your research, stay strong, and switch doctors if necessary!!

See if your dr will scrape your membranes. It's helps some women. I'd ask as soon as your full term. I think most want to wait til 39 weeks but there's no harm in asking at 37, then you can get it done more than once before your due date.

You shouldn't receive pitocin or cervadil while trying for a vbac. I'm in the same boat. I have a midwife and she even agrees that if I go past my due date I should have a c section

Why will he force you to get a c section if you make it to your due date? A due date is just an estimate. There's no reason for him to force you into a repeat section just because you don't go early. He doesn't sound like he's truly supportive of letting your body birth naturally. I'm going for my second natural VBAC so unfortunately I know first hand how hard it is to find a provider that is truly supportive and doesn't switch bait.
