I have fairly severe ADD and have taken Adderall for several years to help with daily tasks like driving and just general day to day chores that I would struggle with otherwise. I assumed I would have to stop taking it when I get pregnant but my doctor said it’s not as bad for pregnancy as one would think. I’m curious if anyone has taken it while pregnant or if anyone else got different advice from their doctor?

P.S, I know there is a lot of stigma around this medication. I am very careful not to abuse it, and I genuinely do need the stimulant to have somewhat normal cognitive function throughout the day. I do, however, want to weigh the pros and cons of taking it while pregnant. Pro: I can pay attention while driving and I won’t be severely depressed. Con: I’m not sure what potential risks there are?
