From Preschool to Kindergarten

Im a preschool teacher, we just had our p/t conferences. We tend to go over long and short term goals. Anything that you as the parent feel youd like us to focus on during the year. In preschool  we look for alphabet and number recognition, social emotional strength, language & cognitive Development. Things like those... 
Kindergarten is to get your child ready for 1st grade meaning they should be more focused on their name, alphabet, numbers, recognition skills, etc.

Well, questions at a preschool conference will be quite different from a kindergarten conference, where more is expected of the child academically.
In preschool, you’ll want to ask about social skills and independence skills primarily. Can they express their wants/needs, do they socialize or still engage in parallel play primarily, can they problem solve at a basic level...things like that.
