So I just got into it with my bf because he insists on staying in New York for at least 1-2 years whereas I’m ready to move down to Florida.

My parents are getting ready to sell the house up here in New York and move to Orlando around May of 2021. I planned to go with them, then I got pregnant. We haven’t told them yet and don’t really plan to until New Years.

My parents are super supportive of literally any and everything we (myself and my siblings) do so I know they’d be supportive with this pregnancy. His parents aren’t the same to say the least. This will be my second child and his first.

He says that him making $3500 after taxes will be enough for us if I’m not working. And this $3500 is contingent upon him being diligent with his money 😒. He keeps looking at apartments up here and wants to get a 3 bedroom in Queens (I currently live in Nassau county). He found one for $2500, but we both have cars (his owned, mine leased), electric, cable, food, etc? On $1000?!

I’m currently not working and after the baby is born in June, personally I’d prefer to stay home rather than send the baby to day care if we can’t go live near my parents. Even if I do start working up here in New York, day care is another cost, probably $1500 a month.

Do I sound crazy for wanting to move with my parents or am I being stubborn? I’m truly confused. I don’t get why we can’t save up here, take money from next years tax return and just go down there. Or is that too much? Advice & opinions pleaseeeeeee 😖
