How to tell my mom I want to start using tampons?

I’m turning 13 November 10th and I got my period in may earlier this year. I want to tell her I want to start using them but embarrassed because whenever anything abt periods comes up I leave the room. How should I ask her?

Just be honest with your mom. Tell her that the topic makes you feel embarrassed but it’s something you want to talk about. I’m sure she will understand.

If it helps, maybe while your at the store you can point to a box and ask to try them? Just be casual about the whole thing and be honest, pads are great for night time but it feels like a diaper and you cant do much physical activity while wearing them..she will understand!
