Fed up with inlaws

During our baby shower I got a lecture from my mother in law about how she doesn't live around us and doesn't know what we need for the baby and we need to tell her. She basically walked around the house and said "we were going to buy you...but you already have it." Following the shower I gave her a list of everything unfulfilled that is a necessity. Here we are, a month later and they haven't bought a thing, but told my husband "just let us know what you get from the list." So annoyed. We have a month to go and close to $700 worth of items to buy. To me, it's not about the gifts, but she made the big deal about helping, then did nothing. Advice or similar stories anyone?
