Is my toddler son gifted or normal?
I’m not around other toddlers. I’m a first time mom so I have no idea what’s normal or what’s not. I can only compare my son to his twin brother. I know every baby/toddler is different as well 🤷♀️
When my son was about 12-13months who could clearly say “Hi” and wave. His brother could only wave. The Dr seemed a little surprised when asked if he could speak. Around 13-14 months he started saying Bear 🐻 pretty clear and saying Dog as well. Now over 15 months he sometimes mixes dog & bear together. He listens very carefully when we try to get home to say a new word. He just started saying “Dads” because my husband says “It’s Dads” when my son tries to grab something. His brother will sometimes say Dog. Both can of course say “mama” and “Dada”
He can stack his building blocks and uses the correct ones that fit together best. His brother tries but hasn’t fully grasped pushing the blocks together, mixing the sizes up and gets frustrated.
He tries very hard to use utensils when eating and his brother would rather use his hand.
He mocks everything you do and can touch his nose and his ears and started doing that a month or two before his twin brother. However, His brother will only touch his ears.
He isn’t and has never been very fussy. His brother is the total opposite.
So I can’t tell if my boys are normal or if one is falling behind or the other is just more
