19 & pregnant💙 baby #2
got an induction for 11/11 at 8pm. came in and i was only 2cm, so at 9pm they inserted one vaginal pill to help my cervix dilate and then planned for Pitocin later on. Let me tell you as soon as that pill popped in those contractions came in hard within 10 mins at 2mins apart ! I knew it was time for epidural so I waited till 11pm and dilated to a 3 1/2 and got my epidural and i was BLESSED! i was so grateful that I was gonna be able to have a pain free birth since my last induction was a nightmare and went bad. Anyways after i got epidural they told me to try to get some rest and if nothing improved then Pitocin was gonna come soon but i had a feeling that the baby was gonna come so I stayed up for a bit and while I was slowing nodding off at 2am i felt something POP and i was completely numb so I knew it had to be my water cause there was no other reason for that feeling. Called in my nurse and they were shocked at how fast I progressed ! my water was broke and i was ready to go! they called my doctor and while I waited for him gave myself another dose of epidural (it was the self push button) so I didn’t have to be worried about feeling pain. Doctor got there around 2:30am but went and delivered another baby before me due to the other baby heart rate dropping. I waited there with my legs closed incase of baby popping out and as soon as doctor came in they opened my legs for me and boom he was down there! Gave the hardest pushes I could even though i didn’t feel a damn thing and 5 pushes later my baby came out at 3:01am and no tearing this time(i was on my yoga ball every day legs wide open bouncing so i think that helped) Im so blessed I got to have a pain-free birth and didn’t need Pitocin and just needed a little pill to get things going.
(I did lose my mucus plug/bloody show the days before my induction so I think that made things go faster and I also had a membrane sweep last friday.)
My baby boy Elijah weighed 5 pounds & 12 ounces, 17 inches tall💙
