Baby shower???

Question

I’m only 23 weeks pregnant but conversations around a baby shower keeps popping up. I’m conflicted on what to do as this is my first baby and there’s a lot of excitement about the baby boy. I was pressured to send out my baby registry now. I thought those were tied to baby showers so I feel weird about sending out a registry to people just cause? 
So what are you guys doing? If I were to have one it would be January/February as I’m due in March..

I’m due in mid-March and we decided to do a drive-by shower in mid-December in NJ. The weather for the day we chose predicts a sunny day in the 40s, so fingers crossed. We’ll only be outside for an hour or so and we’ll have fire pits going. We’ll wear masks when going near the cars and we have favor bags for everyone as a thank you as well as a warm beverage station to give them to-go drinks. My husband’s family is in NY so we’re going to do a sip and see in the spring, after the baby is a few months old and it’s warmer to be outside again. With how the numbers are rising in our areas, we knew being indoors wouldn’t be comfortable for us so we decided this was our safest way to celebrate our 1st born. 💙

First time mom as well and not doing one- not comfortable with it so I made the registry and just going to FaceTime to thank them and hope after babies born it’ll be safe for a meet and greet- I felt awkward too putting the registry like “hey get me a gift anyways” but some kept asking me so I just wrote “since Christmas is coming and I’m not having a baby shower due to covid a lot of people were asking if they could get anything for baby, this is my registry and all gifts appreciated” along those lines

We’re celebrating casually with family at Christmas since family will already be together then doing a super casual baby bonfire with friends in January. I’m in CA so we most likely won’t have any snow. No decorations, no official invites (evite with registry on there), no baby games, nothing exciting haha just making it about spending time together that’s all. I hate attention on me so this was what I was most comfortable with.

I’m due in March too and honestly, the way the covid surge is, I probably won’t have a baby shower. But if people are asking for the registry, maybe send it out and people can ship it to you.

We are doing one in early February but ours will be less than 20 people , unfortunately I live in a state where that is the middle of winter so we have to do it indoors luckily the house is pretty big so distancing all we can.

We are due in March, having a virtual shower in January. We have people that have been asking so are wrapping it up this weekend and will send if people ask. I think some people want to shop when they do Christmas shopping :)

We just had ours last Sunday I’m due first of March. We know the sex so no point of waiting to get closer to due date. We live in Chicago and this pandemic is getting worse we did a drive by baby shower it was great. I feel like things will continue to get worse so decided to have it early, glad we did.
