Is it okay to not have a baby shower?

I was called out as being negative when I said I wasn’t having a shower for baby 4 from a new mom to be. Why is there so much judgement? To each their own.

I’m not having one for this babe. Given covid and the holidays coming up, I don’t feel comfortable doing it.

Oops!!! I clicked no but that’s bc I read the question wrong 🤦🏽‍♀️🙄 lol. I’m not having a shower either. It’s my 2nd girl and we literally need nothing. I don’t want a lot of “stuff” just because people want to buy stuff. I appreciate it but we don’t need anything. Just love & support.  I should start telling people if they really want to buy me something I need wine for after this baby is born 😂

I don’t understand why you would be ‘negative’ for not having a baby shower! Some people choose not to have one even for their first. It should be your choice.
I’m pregnant with #2 and not having one this time around- we already have a house full of stuff and it’s not really culturally done where I am after #1 but I don’t judge those who choose to do otherwise. I’m celebrating by having a child free weekend with a few of my besties! (Covid is no longer a concern where I live in Australia just in case I get comments about that)

In my country ppl will laugh if you say what a baby shower is...is literally an unknown and unnecessary event..so if you don’t want one,then don’t have one

If you already have 3 kids, I’m nit sure why you would. I have one daughter and we won’t be having a shower. If someone really insists on getting us a gift, I will suggest diapers. A diaper shower might not be a bad idea.

oh wow - we are the opposite. we are having our first baby so we are doing a drive-by shower tomorrow. but won’t be doing a shower for any other babies we have. we get judged (in our family and friends circle) if we do more than one.

It’s your 4th pregnancy or your first?  I was always taught you get a shower for your first baby but I know these days people will do it for every pregnancy.  But if you don’t want one that’s your choice.  People can still choose to give you gifts but you don’t need a party for it

Not having a baby shower this is our third. I’ve had two and while I’m sad I won’t experience another one (the two I had really sucked for a lot of reasons 😣) I’m grateful that I had them but I don’t need anymore. This is also our third girl so at this point same gender there really wouldn’t be anything to get us, our families and friends are scattered around the country, and the small group around here probably won’t come because of covid. TheresSO many reasons. Not to mention I know a handful of first time mom friends that didn’t want baby showers so by baby 4 you def have the right to say no. Whether itsbaby 1 or baby 7 it’s up to you only

I’m on my 5th and I won’t have one plus I know every-time my family and friends always provide gifts etc. I think the support is great but it’s completely up to you.
