Bill Splitting?

Question

For those who live w their SO, how do you all feel about splitting bills? 
Should be man be the provider? 
I know different things work for diff relationships just wanted to hear some feedback!

I probably wouldn’t recommend this until marriage, but all household income is combined in my family. My husband and I have a joint account that everything is deposited into and bills are all paid from. It’s so much easier to reach financial goals and manage household expenses when you work together and both of you know where the money is going.

We divided our bills by how much we make. He makes a little over twice what I do. He pays the utilities and the mortgage, which I give him a certain amount for my share. I pay for groceries and house needs and the vet bills. Our cars are our own responsibility. We each have our own savings accounts. His is for long-term emergencies, and mine is for short-term. 
We like having separate finances. We both have very different hobbies and as long as the bills are paid, we can pursue them without feeling the need to justify anything to the other person, although we always talk through large purchases with the other, out of respect, and keep each other aware of how much money is saved in different places. 
We don't have a living child yet, so it's possible that may change at some point, but it works so far.

Before we were married we made a joint account all of our earnings go into and bills are paid from it. He makes significantly more than I do but, we both work and contribute and discuss before big purchases are made and work toward the same goals 
Someone recently posted about borrowing $60 from their husband who wrote her down in his book. This completely baffled me but to each their own

I’d split it down the middle on everything unless he offers to pay more

My husband pays the mortgage and recently took over the phone bill, but I pay for everything else. We share responsibility for food and clothing. Works pretty well for us 😃

My husband and I don’t split the bills evenly, rather I have a few of the small ones to cover and he does the bigger ones. He earns significantly more than I do, he has a great full time job and I work part time and homeschool our 2 children. We’ve been together 10 years and have never had a joint bank account, what we’re doing works for us.

Before we were married we split the bills evenly (rent, utilities, groceries) & we each covered our own cars, student loans & cell phone bills. If we went out to dinner or something he would pay as he made more then I did. Once we got married we got a joint account & we use it to pay for everything.

My husband basically pays for everything. I’m a recent SAHM and he gives me $2k a month for groceries, bills, my spending etc... but its still all him! It’s my first time in 16 years of not having a job, so it’s a little break but once our baby is here I want to go back to work!  I’ll contribute to paying all the small stuff like I do now, and probably help with a portion of the mortgage.

We share all of our money. He pays the majority of the bills, puts gas in my car, and buys the groceries. I put money in the savings. Just works for us.
