Fussy baby

Soooo my baby is 12 weeks old and recently she has been like screaming and so fussy while I try to put her to nap. I can tell she is tired but it takes maybe a good 5-10 minutes for her to calm down to sleep. I’m just wondering. does anyone else go through this?? I try to catch her sleepy cues like yawning, etc but it’s like she doesn’t show any cues and just goes straight to crying. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated!😫

My daughter is like this sometimes. I try to keep an eye on her wake windows. 1-1.5 hours is a good time to start getting ready for naps/bedtime. Diaper change, swaddle (if you use it), white noise, rocking, and maybe nurse/bottle if she needs it. My daughter gets pretty over tired and fussy if I let her go longer than 1.5 so I try to start the routine around then (or earlier) to avoid any over tiredness.

That made me smile! You are most welcome! I really hope it continues to help you AND her because rest and relaxation is important for both of you. Did you download Baby Tracker? I’ve heard good things about Huckleberry too! 🤞🏼

I want to thank you so much!! I started keeping track of my daughters wake windows and she is way less fussy now. I’m a FTM so I swear everything is so brand new and can be confusing at times. I really appreciate your advice!🥺😢❤️

I was going to say the same thing. My sons wake window is 1 hour and 15 minutes max before starting to put him down for a nap. Sometimes he’s still pretty happy too and doesn’t show that he’s too tired but then will fall asleep almost right away.

5-10 min?! That’s not long at all! That’s pretty good

Sleep regression can start 3-5 months. Plus the 12 week developmental leap. She’ll be feisty for awhile, just means she’s developing like she should :) It’s rough, but you’ll be alright
